Basil leaves mixed with an equal quantity of dried ginger powder can be taken in milk and sugar three to four times a day.
Another simple but very effective remedy is turmeric. One teaspoonful of turmeric powder or paste should be added to a cup of sweetened milk and taken three times a day. This induces an early recovery. It cures malaise and removes constipation, while keeping the lungs clear of phlegm and activating the liver.

Fever, Cold and Malaise
One teaspoonful (5 gm) of turmeric powder can be taken three times a day mixed in a cup of warm milk.
One teaspoonful (5 ml) of ginger juice three times a day with honey, may be taken.

Cough
Hot fermentation of the chest with sand or rock salt tied in a piece of cloth is useful.
Applying mustard oil on the chest and throat can help.

Headache
One teaspoonful (5 gm) of the powder of long pepper could be taken three times per day with water, preferably by adding one teaspoonful of jaggery.
For headache associated with sore throat and cold, take one teaspoonful of ginger juice with honey three times a day.

Indigestion
Chewing 2 gm of haritaki pulp with jaggery five minutes before a meal.
Taking one teaspoonful of ginger juice with an equal quantity of lemon juice and a pinch of salt twice a day is useful.
